Froyo Now Available on Droid X

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Verizon has announced the Froyo upgrade for the Motorola Droid X. You can wait for it over the air, or you can take matters into your own hands, with instructions provided by Verizon.

Among the features added, Flash 10.1 is the highlight. This isn’t news for a Froyo version of Android, but Verizon wants you to be assured that Flash support is included. Other upgrades include access to the new Gmail app downloadable by Froyo devices in the Android market, some Verizon bloatware, and easier access to recently used programs.

You can check out Verizon’s information here. If you just want to download the instructions for speeding up the upgrade delivery, you can view the PDF.

If you are a Droid X owner, or have been waiting to get a Droid X until it got Froyo, this is a good day for you. Android keeps on getting better, and eventually all the latest phones will have Froyo. Hopefully this applies to the Xperia X10, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Has anyone already upgraded? What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
